History of the UNIFIED EID COMMITTEE:

The Unified Eid Committee of New Jersey has provided over thirty years of community service.  It originated in Newark, New Jersey and then later it grew throughout the State of New Jersey, earning acknowledgement and accolades from all levels of government throughout the state. 

A few Eid celebrations ago on our holiest day, at a gathering of over a thousand Muslims Governor Corzine compliments our community for the wholesome contribution Muslims have provided to the citizens of New Jersey. 

  We are still continuing this effort in the year 2011.

"We consist of sixteen organizations, including Masajids, Dawah centers, Businesses, youth organizations, community school committees, and social groups. We have received numerous awards, certificates of recognition, and proclamations from the Muslim community, the community at-large, senators, governors, mayors, and other public administrators," says former Eid committee convener, Imam Rashad A. Muhammad.
